Greene began by talking about her break with Donald Trump. The Georgia politician had previously been an ally of the Republican before their relationship deteriorated.
“I said that I’m taking responsibility for my part; I only have control over myself. I don’t want to be part of this anymore. I want to focus on politics, public policy, and actions, instead of focusing on individuals, because our country is very divided,” she said.
After Greene’s response, Sunny Hostin fired back: “So did you apologize to people like AOC and Jasmine Crockett and to your colleague, whom you mocked because of her transgender child?”
In 2021, Greene made transphobic remarks against the transgender daughter of Representative Marine Newman.

“Did you offer specific apologies to those people, especially to your colleague who had a transgender child, considering that you also have a child and taunted her?” Sunny Hostin continued to press.
The former congresswoman said that she made a general apology, but that she “did not receive apologies back from many people who also attacked me” in the past.
“Again, I’m the only one taking responsibility and taking a big step in that direction. Honestly, it’s everyone’s responsibility to do that,” she concluded.
